I use this track often in class. That whiny sound in the beginning is a percussion instrument, the cuíca (pronounced, "kweeca"). Enjoy!

This song came out on Vanessa da Mata's self-titled 2002 album.

Brazil strikes again!

Another case of the Brazilian musical influence!
